Image experts, please help - 06-17-2008, 01:45 PM

I downloaded a vector file, and the place I want to use it only supports jpg files. I opened the vector file (.eps format) in CS2, flattented the image, and saved it as a jpg . .. but when I try to use it in the software I have, the image field is white, instead of having the actual image in it.

Anyone have any suggestions?

-Cindy

go to .tif 1st, then to .jpg.

don't have CS2 but I've seen the same funkiness over the years, not realy sure how I fixed it, but it involved some interim file conversions before going to .jpg, iirc. try some and see what works.

I would open it, save as PSD, close the file, reopen as PSD, flatten, save as JPG

Save as .png and you will keep your transparent background and it will be a small file size as well. .jpg won't keep your transparent areas.

stand up, walk over to the liqeur cabinet grab a bottle of scotch, sit back down, laugh at all the responses, get drunk and forget what the question was.

OK,
So open both vector and jpg file in CS2 then drag the vector file layer into the jpg file, flatten the jpg file and save as jpg.

Or you can open the jpg file in CS2 then in CS2 go to file>place, select the vector file and place in the jpg file, flatten and save ass jpg.

Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone . . I eventually gave up, and set it to my husband, who told me he had access to an actual converter program at work.
