We have all deleted something and thought "oh crap, I needed that."
We you can get that back very easily if you do a few things. First, stop using the drive or computer that the deleted file(s) are on. When you delete you are not deleting the file, you are deleting the reference to it. The file is still there but the computer doesn't know it. Over time the computer rewrites over the file that you have deleted with new files.
Second, either call someone who is in "the know" on how to recover or if you are tech savvy get a program for file recovery. I use Ontrack and love it.
Directions:
1: Either buy the program and run it from the CD or you can download it and place it on a CD. Either way the goal is to run the program from the cd or alternate drive and not write any more to the disk that has the deleted file.
2: Run the program, this requires the data that you are trying to recover to be written some where else so you need a networked drive, External drive, or alternate hard drive
3: You now should have 2 things, your files that you recovered and a log that tells you what was recovered. It helps that you know the extension to find (ie. *.nef, *.doc)
Depending on how quick you stop using the drive you should be successful in recovering the deleted files.
