Question Anyone have experience with Digimarc? - 06-23-2008, 09:29 AM

I'm looking at using Digimarc for my digital copyrights, and was wondering if any of you have any experience with them. I'd like to get some reviews before I drop $500 on a subscription.

Any problems or things I should be concerned about?

www.digimarc.com

Interesting that it is a publicly traded company.

I remember having some photo editing software once that had there stuff in it, but I don't remember anything about them. I think it may have been back in Elements 4.

Well, I have been using Digimarc for the past few months now.
I notice that the watermarks stays with the file.

If the file was altered, images resized or cropped, saved as different formats, etc., then the watermark stays with the image file.

However, as some sites that displays photos are using flash, if the way of stealing the image is to use screen capture, then your watermarks disappear. Some sites, that allows you to drag and drop the images from their sites, will also not contain these digimarc watermarks. A bit useless, in this case.
