What is the best way to get fold creases out of a muslin?
I have a 4th of July Festival this weekend and I am setting up my flag background but it has been in a sealedbag folded for over a year. :(
TIA

Soak the muslin in water. Ring out excess water. Get 3 friends (one on each corner), pull the damp muslin tight and lay it on the studio floor. Let dry.

Thanks guys.
Don't have a steamer.
ANd I don't have a studio here :(
In Texas I had a front load and would just wash them in the washing machine and then hang them. But this one is painted so I can't wash it.
Best place to get a cheap steamer that works well?
All we have here in this dinky town is Walmart and they are outrageous as there is no competition. So I will have to drive an hour min to get some where that has something besides walmart.
Thanks again for the suggestions.

couldn't you just put it in the dryer for a few minutes?

Get a steamer from the dinky Wallmart - else boil water in a tea kettle.
Its good for your clothes and you will use it more that way than for backgrounds.

You could just spray it with water and lay it out...keep pulling on it to get the wrinkles out...PITA, but free!! Or get it wet and take it to a laundry mat...they have big dryers...still cheap

Thanks guys I will see if the walmart has one.
the laundry mat is filthy, went there when we got back from Scotland. Not happening again lol.
But I may not have to worry about it cause the Town messed up and only gave me one plot instead of 2 like I requested and they were like oops sorry, we screwed up lol.

If you don't have a steamer, you could use a steam iron, and keep loading water and spraying it with the iron.

Breezy, assuming you are in a coastal area of NC, can you just hang it up in the garage and let natural humidity take its toll? Either that or I would just try the iron solution already mentioned...

also.. you typically shouldn't fold muslins.. roll them if its a scene or stuff them in a bag at random if not... that way the wrinkles appear to be part of the paint - folds cause lines that draw attention.
