it's a pretty big discussion on another forum I'm on...basically it says that the DC ban on gun ownership was unconstitutional and that all individuals are legally allowed to own a firearm. Good on them, score 1 for the Constitution.

They got ONE right, but they also ruled AGAINST two Louisiana cases where they handed out the death penalty for two child rape cases (one girl was 5 and one was 8 years old). I'm not throwing them any happy dances today!

Leno repeat the other night had Robin Williams on. Loved what he said . . . we can solve Iraq's problems of coming up with a Constitution, just give them ours because we are not using it anyway.

Sadly, that is too true.

Here is the kicker. It was a 5-4 vote.

In dissent, Justice John Paul Stevens wrote that the majority "would have us believe that over 200 years ago, the Framers made a choice to limit the tools available to elected officials wishing to regulate civilian uses of weapons."

Justice Stevens has it all wrong. The framers of the constitution, or at least the bill of rights, wished to protect people from a large, centralized, powerful government. The People coming to the defense of county, or self defense was just the way to sell it to all. The real reasoning behind -- well the entire bill of rights -- is to defend ourselves against our own government.

Stevens is little more than a liberal lapdog. He's full of **** and has no business being a judge much less a Supreme Court Justice.
