So they said we didn't pay our bill, but the payment went through so they "turned off" our internet and cable... should have been fixed this morning.

Except that I can still post here (this and another messageboard), and I can still use AIM. Everything else is blocked.

Way to go, guys...

you know what, i have one....so i had comcast for the longest. it was taken over by time warner. so i move apartments and the guy comes out to install it. i tell him i already have a modem that i used with comcast. the guy says "no we can't do that. it's time warner now." and he pulls out their modem and hooks it up. then explains to me it'll be $3 a month extra. not a big deal for me. but after he leaves i look at the modem and what does it say clear as day on there???? COMCAST. he's lucky i'm lazy.

If the payment went through they should be proactive and fix whatever is wrong quickly.

Had Time-Bummer also and Comcasst...now just got AT&T DSL only and I had some serious problems with them, things they all created, but hey I dont think they ever will charge me for the modem now. I hope.

I disagree. Their Internet is slower than when TWC was running and there are more "clogs" to the point where it's almost unusable for minutes at a time.

I had Time Warner for years. Worked fine. When Comcast took over I had a bunch of signal problems and customer service problems. That finally seems to be ironed out. At least they never tried to make me pay extra for another modem.

You should be able to get them to deduct the broadband portion of your bill for the days that you were without proper service. I was able to get them to take an entire month off but it took a ton of arguing and by the end I was screaming at the moron and I'm pretty sure my head was going to explode. I had to tell him that either he was going to give me credit on my bill or he can close my account for all services and issue the disconnect order right now.

I'm glad it didn't come to that. I'm running out of companies I'm willing to do business with.

Ask for a credit for the time you were cut off---just to poke back a little

I have AT&T UVerse and am not impressed with the tv package. Pictures hang, freeze, pixelate. There are times at night where my internet speed drops to that of dial-up. Doesn't happen often but it is an inconvenience. Have you ever tried to watch Netflix instant watch movies on a dial up connection speed??

When it works its great. When it doesnt its all crap. They customer service billing everything.

Up until recently I had only internet with them which was 35 a month. About two weeks ago I ordered Digital HD with them and got a bundle for Internet/Cable for 90. They told me no install charge, as I previously had Comcast and all the outlets were still hooked up, and that the bill would be prorated from the day it was hooked up. I just got the bill, mind you I ordered the bundle two weeks ago, and it's for $200. They didnt prorate anything and I got billed for installation. I havent called yet but I will.

we were having a problem with the 'net dropping a lot, and our digital cable was also getting splotchy and lost the signal a lot.

A call to Comcast sent a tech out (not fast, but reasonable considering) and he announced that all of our wire (coax) was too old.

great, so now I get to pull a few 100 ft of RG thru the entire house????!

Nah, we do that.

For how much? (said with incredulous intonation)

no charge, sir. We even replace all those ancient splitters you've added over the years....

And years ago, I cut the main feed (buried about half an inch) in the backyard. The TW (then) guy came and replaced that line no charge, but the guy that was supposed to come bury it never showed so I tacked it to the fence. Maybe 15 years ago. And they replaced that. And buried it, too. (ok, maybe a inch or so this time....)

no problems now for well over a year since.

So, it worked like that for a little while, then the power flickered, and when my computer came back on, it wasn't working anymore :(

Everything's fixed now. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with a guy that told me to restart my modem, router, and computer 3 times because he didn't know what the heck he was doing. He finally transferred me to a local guy (who obviously did not know English as his first language), who told me very smugly that the reason my cable was working by the internet wasn't was because the payment hadn't gone through yet, and that since the internet runs on fiber optic cables, it would take longer to turn on. (I'm not kidding)

My husband called, and got basically the same BS answer... it turned back on a few minutes ago.

oh Loana...you have no idea. I am the person customer service people hate to deal with.
