SaSha's art...what's going on in my world thread - 07-04-2008, 12:30 AM

Just a little something i have on the back burner. I have been doing pure photoshop drawings for a while now but nothing this big. There is still a lot of work to be done to finish this one. It is all from scratch with the use of a couple of photos as a guide. The sky, subject and water has all been done on layers using the Wacom tablet which would be really hard with a mouse without pressure sensitive tools. I included a 100 percent crop if you will to show the detail involved. If only Jezebel could help me with the hair. It is a huge learning curve but I am getting close, just not motivated.

Thanks for your awesome comments everyone!!!
Now that I got a couple of catalogs out of the way I am going to dedicate this weekend to this drawing.
In the meantime heres a sunflower. And yes a photograph was the inspiration for this.

Here is something I finished last week. I am at home with abstract oil paintings.
A little info on this experiment. I still have my notebook when I was taking my final classes at TCU and I have all these small pen drawings I did while taking notes. I scanned the image in and projected it onto the canvas then traced the drawing and started in on the painting. Thick paint and a palette knife was used to get the texture and colors.
Feel free to see what you want in this piece, it has no intended subject matter.
Pure freeform.

A broken man, late in his timeline and staring chaos in the mirror of his life. In other words me, now.

By the way, you're a very talented artist.
