Adoption Heart Gallery

Is anyone here a volunteer for the Heart Gallery? It is where photographers help by providing pictures of children waiting for adoption. Taking pictures that might speak to someone who is looking to adopt.

I was at a meeting tonight and spoke with a CPS worker here in Houston, and apparently they are in need of volunteers. For those of you who can't do NILMDTS this is a great opportunity to do volunteer work that utilizes your talents as a photographer. The link to all of the Heart Galleries of Texas is listed below. They had a big display set up in the mall up here of these kids. Awesome work, by some really talented photogs.

Yeah, there are many areas that are well organized. Houston is working on getting a separate gallery right now.

I just got a call from the Department of Children's Services and we are meeting next week to discuss the project. We are hoping to get pictures of the children and set up a gallery like the one they have in Austin. Thank you to those who have already shown interest in helping. I will keep this thread updated as I have more information.

I was thinking about this too. I volunteered for Hospice and it was too much for me because my grandaddy just died in one. I would love to adopt one day and this would be a great way to learn more and contribute in the mean time.
