Going back to work!

I had been toying with going back to school or going back to work... and well Friday kinda answered my question! I have been a stay at home mom for going on 4 years now... and loved t.. but ready to get them off to school. I will still shoot... but only on the weekends now!

Friday afternoon the OWNER of Hubbs's 2nd JOB handed him an application and said take this to your wife ad have her return it immedately! so I filled it out Saturday afternoon! and got a call Sunday night telling me to BE THERE between 8-9 am... to talk to Austin! I got there at 8:15 am and was filling out paperwork at 8:30 am ... I was hired on the spot and he did not look at my resume' nor my app until I was filling out the new hire packet!!! I was SHOCKED and flattered at the same time! I start Monday they hired me in at the pay cap and said that in 90 days I will be evaluated and a pay raise!... plus 1.00 incentive for every hour I work!!! hours are 7-5 mon-fri... that is 10 hour days... so 5 hours overtime each week, plus some.. you NEVER leave work on time and I am the ONLY dispatcher there right now, so there may be calls coming in and I can not leave till one of the crews are back! that means that on top of the 5 hours overtime.. there is lots of potential for MORE overtime...

and that my friends spells MONEY!!!!! MONEY!!! It is STILL GREEN RIGHT???

god it has been so long since I have seen any I almost forgot what it looks like!!!

did I mention that I can EXCITED to go back to work!!!

Good for you....hope the job is good to you. If the twins are going to school, they will be occupied...enjoy the extra income!!

They are hopefully starting Aug 25 th I think... I have to call the district and see when they START... and how long they will go! I thought Pre_k was half days but the neighbor says it is a full day... so I need to make sure that will determine the child care situation!

Congrats! I hope you enjoy going back to work. What type of work will you be doing? Is it the same type of work you were doing before kids?

My oldest starts kinder this year and the little one starts pre-k, so I'm hoping to do something part-time. I still need to be available for them before/after school so I'll have to have a flexible schedule.

maybe... but in the long run ... after not working for 3.5-4 years... I have to climb out of the RUT and fill it back in...

then I can think about PLAYING with the money!!! lol I can say that I have been window shopping already!!!

Yes... I was a dispatcher for an ambulance company, and then went to get my paramedics (while still working as dispatcher) finished my paramedics course and was going to cert with the nation... found I was preggers with the twins

Took off the entire pregnancy, and then back to dispatching when they were 6 months old..for the place that I quit... did that for a year and took off again (child care was 175.00 a week) and was not making enough to support that so I have been a stay at home mom since the were 18 months old.

good luck it is hard... as I said above this just kinda fell into my lap!! I am greatful but oh so ready to go back to work!!!

Nothing against Olympus (I'll never part with my grandmother's old OM-1), but when the time comes, I'm sure there are tons of us here to fill your head with Canon/Nikon propaganda!

Congrats! You might also check if your ISD has an extended-day program at the kids' school. They are usually super-affordable and great for days where you need an extra hour or two after school hours. They give them snacks and help them with their homework. Just something to check on...
