I had a rare work engagement on Saturday with my regular job, so I spent the day busy.
Drove around after work looking for a place to eat and ended up in the downtown area (had an excellent meal at a new resturaunt in town called the French Quarter Bistro).
After dinner I left there and just kinda drove around with the window down till I came to a spot that I like to get coffee and dessert.
Following that (it was about 7:15) I drove past the cactus theater where I noticed that one of my song writing heros happened to be playing (starting at 7:30) Parked the car and made my way to the ticket window to see if they had any seats left. They had quite a few, but one in particular caught my eye... center section, front row, about three seats from the aisle; the only one available on the front row, the next was about fifteen rows back.
The guy on stage this evening was none-other than the great Billy Joe Shaver, and wow what an entertaining show.
I recently bought a G9, and have been playing with the movie mode on this thing as much as the still photography functions. I asked the guy running the sound if photography was ok, and he said he didn't see a problem as long as I didn't use flash. Turns out that I was the only one in the place with a camera that didn't use a flash (but that's ok, cause I think mine probably turned out better anyway.)
So to cut off an already rambling story...
Had one he77 of a great evening, and saw an amazingly energetic performace by what has to be the greatest song writer that's still living (now that Townes is gone)
I'll add a few pics once I get them off of my laptop...

Nevermind -- I'll take care of it myself!
