Hey guys,

A buddy of mine is doing a series on craftsmen that make things by hand...things that are mostly made by machine now days.

Let me know if you know any one that makes cool things by hand. Could be jewelry or clothes or instruments or furniture. Anything cool.

Thanks

I know lots of people that do Renaissance faires. Here's a link to the artisans site for Scarborough in Waxahachie. They have links off of there to the craftsmen homepages.

I think this is a really cool idea.

I know of a single-person boot-making shop near Fort Worth (there's bound to be more than one). He does really good work.

Used to know a guy who built wooden boats by hand, and had for 65 years at the time I met him ... he made each boat by eye. When he got to old to handle the large materials, he started making scale models of his own boats.

I'll have to see if he's still alive, but if so, I'll let you know. He was a friend's mother's "manfriend." Can't be that old and be a boyfriend.
