And I feel really bad watching them get killed (I haven't been able to do it) but there have been too many close calls, and last year we had a big dog get bit in the back by another one (we've had 3 to date). And we're really paranoid around here now, it's kinda funny. and kinda not...

But I live on 2 acres near woods and a bayou, and for the 12 years I had geese around, I saw very few snakes. After the geese got killed off (By cars and coyote) I've started to see more and more snakes, albeit harmless and beneficial rat snakes, around the house. The geese were just so darned annoying with their giant turds on all the walkways and loud honking noise when someone pulled in the driveway (which isn't all that bad).
Actually, it is true. We had geese in the yard when we lived in Malaysia to keep the snakes out of the yard. Worked very well.
