My 24 year Anniversary (Blink, Blink) - 08-04-2008, 10:19 AM

Well barring my untimely expiration in the next 2 days My wife and I will
celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary

Where the time went, I couldn't tell you. My gosh! It seems unbelievable and if my Altzhiemer's doesn't kick in I might actually
remember roses and a card for my lovely wife If not... (that's a joke, in case she reads this )

What has been the secret? LOVE! (What did you expect me to say?)

I'll reveal the secret in the next 24 years. Perhaps, I'll know by then.

(Photograph)About 25 years ago.

That is awesome.

I'll be married 10 years next April. Time has started flying faster since the kids came along. My parents would say the same thing ... they've been married about 300 years.

Thanks guys. I used to "couldn't wait" now I definately wait for it. It rolls around every couple of months, at least it seems like it anyway.

<Laughing> I can barely remember my 10th, I think we lived in Alaska at the time. Someday I'll have to sit down and organize all the years in my head or at least the photographs. I remember a baby but he's almost 18 now. <whew> Where does the time go?

Congrats to you and to everyone that is married 10 plus. I lacked 6 days making 25:(
MAy I offer a suggestion to make the next 25 better than the first?
Pick up the books For Men Only and For Women Only by Shaunti Feldhahn.
As I live and breathe, If I had read them 2 months prior to her filing, I would be happily married today.
Again CONGRATS :)

Congrats! That's a huge milestone.

I've been married 5 years and it feels like we were just married yesterday.

Thanks everyone for all the congrats. We had a nice 24th honeymoon at the Hilton and are anticipating #25 in what will seem like a month or two I'm sure.

Thanks David, I appreciate the suggestion, I wish that I was a better reader, does it come in newspaper format? I'll make a note of the title.

Hang in there Anthony and I'll be the first to say it's not a cake walk, experience definately smooths out the bumps in the road and one can appreciate the good times much more as the years stack up.

Congratulations to you as well Kelley; that's a great way for a marriage to feel - like it was yesterday.

I'm afraid the nature of life is that we just run out of it and that, when we've finally gotten fairly good at it.

Congratulations David. Our next milestone will be #43 next February. Seems like we celebrated #40 just a couple of months ago.

Howdy Don! <Gulp> #43, I remember when I thought a number that large wasn't possible. It's funny how our views change as the years go by. I guess the biggest mistake young couples make is thinking that it's easy.

I know after 24 years how much I depend on my better half, I can only imagine how true that will be after 43! (It's funny how the calendar turns into a clock and one that runs fast at that) Life zips by - I haven't figured out a way to slow it down yet. I guess if I did, I'd forget what I was doing...

Don, I hope you are doing well these days and finding yourself good as new again.

---------------------------------------------------

Thanks Angelo, You and Don should be in the TPF hall of fame. I would imagine that it would be pretty good luck to have someone photograph their wedding with that kind of experience under their belt.

Thanks a bunch for the congrats guys, I appreciate that coming from a couple of pros and I'll know who to call for advice when #30 surprises me here pretty soon.
