| You Can't Be Serious!!  |

Thanks for the tip. Turning down the volume seems to help on my laptop with the startup chime. Really, it's a reassuring sound for me. At a job several years ago, I watched as a guy tried to fire up one of the office Macs and he got the blinking question-mark of death. |
