Sciatica PITA - 08-07-2008, 11:13 AM

I have sciatica pain, numbness in my left thigh for years. I have found some stretching that helps but nothing that will really get ride of the problem. It's gotten a lot better but I was wondering what anyone else has done to cure the issue. I am probably going to give the local back cracker a call and see if he can help.

adam.

I'll recommend my sister-in-law, a physical therapist, near Gattis School Rd and Red Bud...send me a private message for her name and number. She has significantly helped my shoulder problem and has helped my not as severe sciatica problems as well - but it takes time. I'm sure she could chat with you on the phone to let you know if she thinks she can help you out based on the expectations that you have.

I agree with Jeff,
Go see a good PT. I've had the same problem off and on for several years. A few months worth of PT solved the problem and keeping up the exercises at home have kept it at bay.
Good Luck with it!

I will give the pt a try. I really would like to get back to martial arts. I just couldn't do it any longer because I was afraid some one would hit my leg. If brushing against the desk will almost make me cry think what getting kicked in the thigh is like.
