Finally Here - 08-14-2008, 03:05 PM

Well folks I finally made it to Houston, and settled down in the Sugar Land area.

Quick question, when does it cool down around here? Does the humidity ever cease, lol?

Anyways, glad to be back in the Lone Star State after 19 years.

Looking forward to meeting quite a few of you!!!

Regards,

Edgar

Welcome back.

Does the humidity ever cease.

Heh, heh, heh... Reminds me of the young couple I met on a golf course a few years ago. They were probably late 20's, moved down from up east. It was in April, temps in the 80's, moderate humidity. IOW, it was quite pleasant. They were sweatting quite profusely.

The guy asked the same thing, "Is it always this hot and humid, down here?" I chuckled and asked, "Are you serious?" He was. I said, "You ain't seen nuthin', yet. Wait till July/August, where the temps are hi 90's to 100+, and the humidity matches."

The girl looked at him and said, "I think we've made a terrible mistake." Name: dickiedo.gif

Sometime between Feb 11th and Feb 13th.

I'm from up north...anything over 75F is too hot for golf. On a good note, the courses and driving ranges are usually pretty empty on the days I like to golf.

Don't worry...pretty soon you'll think that 60 degrees is freezing. Welcome to the area.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I completely forgot how proud Texans are of their state and asked for a Long Island Ice Tea at a restaurant. I was quickly told that in this part of the country they are called Lone Star Ice Tea, lol. I love this state!!!

Thanks everyone!

P.S. I would love to know when the next Sugar Land get together is going to be.
