He will be in the middle of the atlantic *maybe* while we are supposed to be in HI :(
We can't win for loosing lol
I feel you on that one! My Daughters Husband is doing a year in Korea and she has all the clearence to fly over (at her own expense) to see him... She even talked to his CO and they said that the timing was fine and that he would be in camp at the time.

So she laid out the $1400 for the ticket (plus passport) and 2 days later they call her and said - oops had the dates wrong! He'll be deployed in the field during the time you got the ticket for. so she had to shell out another $400 to change the dates.

And he is only an E2 - so it's not like they have a bunch of money for this kind of stuff.

I can't vouch for the Kauai one, but we did the helicopter tour of the big island and it was spectacular - you get to see so much that you wouldn't from the ground. And with the amazing cliffs and valleies of Kauai - I bet it would be awesome!

That sucks worse than mine.
that is definately a lot of money for an E2.
I am just disappointed that he won't be in "Hawaii" with me but also cause I am selfish and he can't watch the kids for me to get some shots
My mom says she is going but she has told me numerous times that she raised her kids and that she isn't raising mine lol. So I guess I get to only shot "family vaction" shots.

By way of a reminder, you can use your search of the forum for Hawaii related words, which would point you to other healpful threads...
This one is on Oahu!
Our helicopter could only hold 3 plus the pilot. But with the doors off, it was quite a shooting opportunity!

I used to live on the Big Island but I also spent lots of time on Kauai working. Hands down, the Big Island is my favorite. Kauai is certainly beautiful but the Big Island has so much more variety. Either way, you probably won't be disappointed.
