The Reckless One's latest release is #1 on the Americana Charts.

IMHO these guys are the real deal, ever since we "discovered" them performing the Millican CD in Sundance, Ft Worth a few years ago. We are Fans, to say the least.

On another note, Chris Knight's "Heart of Stone" CD debuted at 15 ahead of Willie and a lot of other excellent artists in this music form.

Last Saturday afternoon, a very dear friend and I were having a Shiner Bock in the picnic area at Gruene Hall talking about the abundance of excellent music around that area, and he said "yep, you can't throw a stick around here without knocking a guitar out of tune". I 'bout fell off the picnic table and spilled my Bock!.

yep. Joe Ely has been using Reckless Kelly lately as a quick backup band when doing some of his more rocking performances.
Funny story about Gruene, the band I was recently playing with is now defunct, and I put an ad on Austin Craiglist for fiddle/mandolin/guitar available - all the responses I got are from the New Braunfels and San Marcos area. So your friend is definitely correct.
