I think this week has sucked....

But I know there are people far worse than me....

1. My external backup hard drive failed bigtime. Current quotes are running around $2000 for a physical repair as is a physical failure.

Of course, I didn't get a chance to back it up on a backup. It just died.


2. The third ESI (and fourt round of injections) for my back have done nothing except cause more pain for me. Next up who knows. I believe EMG's or discograms might be next....

3. Bought a bunch of hard drives so I can start backing stuff up. We're going to be setting up a raid system for local backup but also setting up a server at a hosting site specifically for image encryption and backups. As well as burning all to DVD. I'm super super paranoid as you can tell.


So, after all this week, I decided to treat myself to a new iPhone 3G. Got the 16gb black cuz I just can't do white...........

I want both janet. Thankfully I've found a place that will do the recovery for a cheaper rate than most places, but I'll try and do something in return like their website or photography for them......

well, my weekend has improved a bit - i don't have a lump on the side of my face like an egg anymore - so there's that...but i do have plenty more dentist trips in the future for the next week..so..

There's a guy here in Dallas who is contracted by Apple to do recovery.

He has helped me and at least three of my friends.

The bill has never been over $1,000 - and he recovers over 95%.

Just curious, but if your backup failed, wouldn't the data still be on your primary hard drive?

And PS -- everyone is paranoid right after a data loss

Thats one of the things I like about flickr I upload everthing there as a2nd backup.

My 2nd internal hard drive, 400 GB, which I use exclusively for media files (photos, movies, music) was almost completely full, when it suddenly died as I tried to cram one more photo shoot into it. Fortunately, I had most of it backed up to external drives. Even more fortunately, I was able to use some techniques to pull another 1,000 files off the drive before it finally refused to stop responding.

Now, I have a 1 TB hard drive as my 2nd internal.

This reminds me, again... I need to back up this week's photo shoots...
