R U Looking for a PBS TV station? - 08-27-2008, 09:47 PM

Channel 8 in Houston is our local PBS television station, located on the University of Houston campus. (PBS=Public Broadcasting Service) If you are looking for the PBS station in Dallas, Tx, go to www.pbs.org and on the left side of the home page there is a place to put in your zip code to help locate what channel is the Dallas PBS station.
HTH!

We have an analog set with rabbit ears and are having the same problem with WFAA-Channel 8 in Dallas. It used to be crystal clear without the digital box, but we already have the box hooked up (we need it for Channel 5 and others) and was getting really good reception for 8 ... now the box can't even detect a digital signal.

No answers, just more questions! Fortunately, we don't like 8 for much except "Wipeout" on Tuesday nights. :-)

Channel 8 in DFW is ABC. I'm getting a "searching for signal" on my HD DVR on 8 tonight and I don't usually see that. Not sure what it is. My TV has an over the air tuner. Most of the time if the DVR is weak I can switch over to the TV tuner and get goood reception. Just checked again.......it's fine right now. Signal strength is 97-100%.

It must be a problem with their over the air transmitter because Directv has been up.

Houston Channel 8 on digital converter box has been having problems lately. No other channels in Houston are having this problem.

By the words, "having problems" means the signal breaking up during a TV show momentarily or the video lags behind the audio and sometimes be completely off the air (usually briefly but sometimes longer) during this month, those problems were occurring on analog TV too for Houston Channel 8 --- because analog TV is all we have.

I only have digital now that I have converter boxes on all my analog tv's. I have been getting "no signal" on 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3, sometimes all but sometimes only one or two.
