A great look into some Depression/Pre-WWII images produced for the first time in color.. (Ok, it starts off with Lange's amazing "Migrant Mother" image in B&W, but the rest is in color.) http://sites.google.com/site/earlykodachromeimages/

Great stuff! I once shot 72 rolls of Kodachrome 25 on a South Pacific tour... Nothing better even today... :) | | | |

Kodachrome 25 was a very late incarnation. Long gone too. Darn it. Kodachrome 64 may be gone soon as well. Along with Polaroid, the two most influential films of the 20th Centrury will be gone in less than a decade into the 21st Century. Something ain't right.

ps: Digital is not now, nor ever will be, a substitute for Kodachrome and Polaroid. Or Panatomic-X. Or Tri-X.
That's my story & I'm sticking to it.

Wow! Kodachrome has a life to it that other films do not. Wonderful shots.

They give us those nice bright colors,
They give us the greens of summers,
That makes you think all the worlds a sunny day, oh yeah,
I got a Nikon camera
I love to take a photograph,
So mama don't take my Kodachrome away
