Collectibles?
I have over $400 Precious Moments (well let me refraise, I HAD until we moved).
Normally the movers break a couple and I get them replaced no biggie as there is documentation that I had it as I still had the broken pieces.
Well this time they apparently lost a whole box of them. I can only remember about 20 of them. But I have no proof other than photos from Christmas and Bdays with them OOF in the background etc....
So would we go through the isurance company make a list, take photos and call it a day? Or does it need to be notorized etc...?

NO Ben unfortunately we never had this issue so I just never did.
Now I wish I had. But it is a little late lol. Just wondering what is the best way to take care of it before we move again :D

Maybe receipts or records from wherever you ordered them?...Were they ever listed in any publication or documented elsewhere?...Ben

For me the best way is to run a video camera thru the house to get all the stuff...photos on the wall, lamps, furniture, etc. then of course the PITA stuff where you have to get serial numbers. But that way, if you can't find something, you can look on the video tape and it is easy to show you had it before the move.

Thanks Renae
Ben can't do that either for the most part as 95% of them were bought by 2001.
We only bought a few when we were here last time and like 2-3 in TX. And I was crazy and stuffed the receipts in the boxes.
But I very well will come up with some sort of way to do it this time around.

You say they lost a whole box of them. Was there a count of the boxes that went into the truck, or some kind of inventory as they loaded?

Tom yes we are actually missing 2 entire boxes.
LOTS of stuff including mine and dhs High School diplomas.
As for the inventory on the truck yes there was on, but that is a whole nother issue. That said the Navy is considering droping them as carriers. I have involved the owner and he is just a slacking as the rest of the company.

But we are hoping to do something to prevent this next time. We have learned tons from this move, amazing it took us til the 5th move to get screwed royally to figure it all out lol.
