Small Studio In San Antonio TX broken into. - 09-10-2008, 07:08 PM

This past Sunday evening around 8:30pm to 4:00am our downtown studio was broken into, most of our gear was lost including many nikon lenses and a few bodies. At the advice of a fellow colleague I've decided to post on various forums to alert people on probably stolen merchandise, the insurance seems to be taking care of everything but that however does no differ the fact that many personal sentimental items were also taken, as well as 3 external HD's with photo's and personal information. I've comprised an equipment list and have tried to obtain all the serials I could and have been in contact with Adorama, BH and others to try and obtain the missing ones.

Nikon Boddies

Nikon D2hs SN#3003486
Nikon D2h SN#2035548
Nikon D300 SN#3029653

Nikon Lenses

Nikkor 14mm f/2.8 SN#206552 (1)
Nikkor 14mm f/2.8 SN#pending(2)
Nikkor 28mm f/1.4 SN#201924
Nikkor 35mm f/2.0 SN#195584
Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 SN#pending
Nikkor 85mm f/1.4 SN#pending(1)
Nikkor 85mm f/1.4 SN#pending(2)
Nikon 105mm f/2.8 Macro Lens SN#pending
Nikkor 105mm f/2.0 SN#pending
Nikkor 135mm f/2.0 SN#pending
Nikkor 135mm f/2.0 SN#pending

Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 SN#pending
Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 SN#pending
Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 SN#pending
Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 SN#pending
Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 SN#pending
Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VS SN#pending
Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 SN#pending

Nikon 1.4x extender (2)
Nikon 1.7x extender (2)
Nikon 2.0x Extender

Nikon SB800
Nikon SB800DX (3)

Leica M4 w/ Leica M 28mm f/2.8 Serial on body was 1380-315

(3) Lacie 500gb
(2) Pelican 1600 Cases with dividers

I'm calling everywhere to try and recover the missing serials, a bad idea is to have them backed up on a hard drive that itself gets stolen, My insurance company is replacing the majority of these items but the Leica has no value to them, if anyone has or see's any of these items please PM me.

Thank you.

Check with the Camera Exchange on San Pedro to see if the Leica might have showed up there. They are pretty good about keeping an eye out for stuff.

That is horrible! I hate criminals and well I cannot say what I think should happen to people that do these things but you can guess!. Anyway, I hope you or police can recover your equipment. I will try to keep an eye out. Have you posted this information on NikonCafe ?

That is the sort of thing you don't even wish upon your worst enemy!

Here's my hopes that you are able to recover everything in short manner and the criminals are caught and prosecuted.

Unfortunately, I'd be willing to bet that they knew exactly what was in your studio from someone that had recently been in there. Start thinking back to anyone out of the norm that has been in there recently.
Good Luck........

Chuck

I spoke with the Owner of the Camera Exchange, he said to fax him the serial numbers and he would be on the lookout for your equipment.
