We are in Flower Mound and it is getting time for us to head back to Baytown. Our was finally able to get into our house and the news was not good. The house took on alot of water, the mud line is about half way up and all the appliances have relocated themselves amongst other things. Needless to say we have much work ahead, we have been looking for a generator to take back with us and have been told that everything here has been sent to Houston. If anybody here knows where we might be able to buy one today or tomorrow before we go home would you please pm Barry or I.
Also we are going to take back (if we can find them) tarps because several of our friends have roof damage.-Dora

Try Harbour Freight on Hulen near 20 in Fort Worth. They have tarps and probably generators. Good luck!!

Can't say about the ones around DFW, but I just got home from a Costco here in Austin, and they had plenty of generators displayed.

I am in Grapevine, there is a Costco and Sams within 2 miles. Call and I'll loan you my card to either place. I have both Costco and Sams.

(we are married last week remember???)

Thanks everyone but it doesn't appear we will have any place to put a generator now. There is no way that we could live in our home for now or if we'll ever be able to live there. There is talk of the city condemning our neighborhood.

A few weeks ago, before the storms, I was looking at Craigslist. There were a lot of them for sale by individuals. I suppose that has reversed now, but you can always look.

My guess is that generators are bought when someone either needs one, or thinks they will, and after things settle down, they want to get rid of them again.

Good luck, sorry to hear about your house.

YIKES. Sorry to hear about this. Don't like to hear about anyone from TPF being homeless.
