She is my 3rd one I've had over the years. I think there are 3 different genotypes. Hairless is a recessive trait, so it takes a lot of experience in the genetics and breeding to breed hairless rats. They can only be born from rats carrying the gene, and not possessing the gene. If you mate a hairless rat with another hairless rat, you will get a full litter of dead babies.
It's a breed that is accepted with the major fancy rat registrations and associations.
They do have some fuzz on them though! the fur is short and fuzzy, soft like the fuzz on the top of a horses snout
