Thta's crazy because any "good" professional could get excellent and marketable shots using a rangefinder or good quality P&S. Obvioulsy the media person that came up with that rule doesn't understand photography at all.

Yeah it is annoying. I'd love to try out my d700 with my 50mm 1.4 for the night band shots, but alas no luck. Too bad.

I've gotten in with my DSLR and lenses before. The people at the gate just want to bring the lind down. It's the volunteers/workers inside the park and around the stages that will tell you to put them up. It happened to me and I just waited till they walked off and started snapping away again.

A friend last year brought his D100 with a 18-250mm as well as a 50mm. Said he didn't have any problem getting it in.... Just sayin....

What's the worst that could happen? You get there with, say, $8-10K worth of equipment. They take and smash it. If you are smart, you brought a little p&s, so you still get pics. So, is there really any downside to this?

What's the problem with detachable lens? I'm not sure I understand.

Or just leave your cameras at home and enjoy the music.

Oops, I wrote that on a photography forum. Don't shoot me!
