Back From The Road Trip... 2000+ Miles in 32'ish hours... *With PICS* - 10-13-2008, 05:58 PM

I went with my buddy Dave this weekend to pick up his new bike in Pheonix AZ.

So we left Austin Saturday night at 9pm, and I got home this morning at 5:45am. From Sat morning at 7:30am till now, I have had 4 hours of sleep, and 3 of them were this morning. We did just oover 2000 miles in right around 32 hours. Stopped for food twice and bathroom breaks a bunch. I lived on Monster and Sunflower Seeds lol.

I took some pics, but Dave and I both had to work today, and we were worried about getting back on time, so we didn't stop for the pics. Literally. Most of the pics I took were from the 65-90mph truck. They were also mostly just to show my kids what it was like, so they aren't artsy or even technically sound. lol

I'm just glad to be back alive lol. Those last few hours on the road, the lack of sleep got to me, and I started to see weird things. You know, common things, like a big hand picking up the road in front of us and moving to a different direction lol...

Aight, here are some pics... Let me quote myself from before...

Oh, and we saw a few nice cars during the tip. One, not pictured, was an original, and looked race prepped, Ford GT-40. That was worth the drive all by itself lol...

This really gives a perspective of how low and tight that the C6 Z06 really is...

Looks like your sensor was in a dust storm out West.

Now that's a dirty sensor. I drove to Tucson and back last year, with my wife taking the wheel for probably only three hours worth of driving when I was too exhausted to continue. I developed shingles when I got back to Austin. Apparently I'm too old for that kind of travel stress now. :p

made a similar trip back in 2004. Houston to Phoenix and back in 36 hours. crazy stuff happened.

I love long drives. driven from Houston to Miami and back. took the greyhound from Houston to Las Vegas one year.

Ugh, I hate long drives. I had to make the drive from San Diego to Houston twice. Got some good captures in there, but you said you saw some nice cars... except for the G40, all I see are Corvettes so I'm wondering if you meant other cars you didn't get pictures of. :D

You probably passed me along the way. I was in Phx all weekend, and loaded in Casa Grande, AZ Monday. It was a cool weekend out there, and there must have been some kind of Vette function going on I saw and unusually high number of them around town.

Dylan,

The first thing I noticed was you really need to clean your sensor. It seems scary at first, but if you read the instructions, it is really easy.
