You were offered the photographic opportunity that you have always wanted, but the catch is that you are limited to:
2 Camera bodies
3 lenses
2 flash units
What would you take? It could be anywhere you have always wanted to go/do, but you are limited to the equipment above, and to equipment you already own because its "pack your bags you are leaving in 30 minutes".
My picks:
D2X + D700
50mm f/1.4, 24-70mm, 70-200mm
single SB 800 (all I own)

Easy...
*EDIT* The below is if I could go buy equipment. I don't currently have enough gear to cover this post if it's limited to what I already own... :(
Canon 1DMKIII + Canon 5D...
All Canon: 15mm F/2.8 Fisheye - 17-40mm F/4 L - 70-200mm F/2.8 IS L
Canon 550EX II

For me to take the job, I'd need a cash advance and my favorite camera shop would have to be on the way to the airport. :-) | | | |

This one is easy,
My current inventory of lenses is a 16-35 f/2.8, 24-70 f/2.8, and 70-200 f/2.8, 50 f/1.4, and a lens baby 3g. I would take the 16-35, 24-70, 70-200.
I have 2 bodies, so I would take both (40d and 20d)
and I have 2 flash units (a 580 exII and a 550) so those would both come as well.
depending on the climate, I might be able to get by for 2 weeks on what I could carry in my camera bag (a toothbrush, some deodorant, a second pair of shorts convertible to cargo pants, a few t-shirts, socks and underwear)
Sounds like a fun trip - when do we leave!

Nevermind -- I'll take care of it myself!

I've had to think about this a number of times already, specially when I was working in Ireland as a tour guide every summer. I always take at least one camera that doesn't need power, so if everything goes down, or if you're in a place where you can't charge batteries, you're covered.
Today, I would take:
my current body, a K20D.
The other "body" is a Zeiss Icon 6x6 folder, no batteries needed.
21mm f3.2 pancake for wide.
40mm f2.8 pancake for normal.
100mm f2.8 macro, for long and macro.
2 flashes are a Nikon SB28 and an old Vivitar.
Don't forget the 120 film, PC cable, mini tripod, and monopod/hiking staff.

The equipment is no problem at all. I just wouldn't want my wife to know where I was going.

For me tyhe opportunity would be to photograph significant people in the world today and I would take this:
Hasselblad H3DII-50 with HC 3.2 150mm and HC/4.5 300mm
Nikon D3 with 85mm f/1.4
Flash units: Profoto ComPact 1200R heads
I don't own this equipment, but since this is paid for, I'd rent it on the way to the airport :-)
