Stock Portfolio vs Photography Hobby

My stock portfolio is down 36.95% with holdings in AIG (-92%) WB (-66%) and WAMU (-100%)

My D3 is down 30% (5,000 to 3,500ish) but has won me a Sony Handycam, Sony DSLR and a $1000 Expedia Credit from photography contests.

I am wondering which is a better investment?

If you are anything like me -- the financial/stock market makes me frown and worry, where as anything camera related makes me smile and be happy, and puts me in a relaxed state.

For me, it's a no-brainer. The camera equipment is a much, much, much better investment!

I'm "only" down 22% right now .. I feel lucky compared to a lot of people.

I sold my last US stock last year at 63. Right now, it is sitting at 24.75. I feel like a king.

Here is something to think about:
If you purchased $1,000 of AIG stock one year ago, you would have $42 left.
With Lehman, you would have $6.60 left.
With Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, you would have less than $5 left.

But if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all of the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have $214.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.
