In my opinion they did a pretty good job nailing down the top 10-15. But The Exorcist should be at least #2 if not #1. I'm a huge fan of horror movies and b-horror movies. The Exorcist was the ONLY horror flick to actually scare me! | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

Yeah! The Thing was no.1 - that's always my first response to the scarriest movie question. But there are some much scarier shows in that list...

Seriously?? Willy Wonka? Dawn of the Dead was just plain funny. A lot of those are just really lame.
House of 1000 Corpses. THAT was scary.

Just off the top of my head, my favorite five (in no order) would be: "Frankenstein" (1931), "White Zombie" (1932), "Dracula" (1931), "House of Frankenstein" (1944) and "The Ghoul"...A side note: Glenn Strange, who played the monster in "House of Frankenstein" was best known for his role as Sam the bartender in the long running series, "Gunsmoke"...
I'll pick something good to watch on Halloween... ...Ben

i grew up in a small country town and saw the texas chainsaw massacre when it first came out. i was 12 and sitting on the front row. it scared the living #@&%*## out of me. so from my damaged point of view, every thing is compared to that.... | | | |

"Psycho" - I kept wondering if I could take a shower without pulling the shower curtain closed. I will be honest when they turned the old decomposed lady around in her chair I jumped up and threw my popcorn in the air.
