Anyone else playing world tour? I have been playing it way to much since it came out. Now that I have my electronic roland drum kit all hooked into it. It has made the game a true simulation for drummers....

I've always preferred the real thing. For some reason, the game has never appealed to me...I guess that is a good thing all said..
I have always wanted a set of Roland V's (although I am a guitar player). We used to rehears with a set.. Sure made it easier to keep the volume reasonable.. LOL

my son was telling me about some of the features, including collaboration and sharing. It really sounds like a watershed technology for musicians, at least those who can do things in a slightly new way.

I wanted the game for two reasons. One, they now have TOOL. Two, I have been wanting to mess around with some drums. I know having the game is not the same but I felt playing this would give me a perspective and allow me to make a better decision if I decided to buy a set. So far I'm loving it. I think this will definitely motivate and help me go from not knowing a thing to an advance beginner or low intermediate.

having played percussion for years, i thought i would give it a try on the neighbors RockBand setup....
Its not too realistic to me to keeping rythm on specific drums.
The way you play on a set, vs playing to keep in line with the color keyed rythms coming down the screen just doesnt gel for me.
Not playing the guitar however, i cant comment on the guitar realism, but i have had friends who play various styles of guitar music try to play on my son's setup and they said while the rythm aspect is good, the fingering throws them off.
I gotta agree, it looks way cool tho.
And the only way my wife will let me have drums now, is if they are electronic and as noted...you can control the volume. There are even devices out now, that dampen the taps/thuds on the pads without messing up the sensitivity or rebound too bad.

I've never played the RockBand drum set however I can say with the GH set it definitely has a drum feel too it. When I get through a drum fill without messing up it feels like I'm actually playing a real set. The GH set has an elevated hihat and crash cymbal to give it a realistic feel to it.

on a different note since i dont do the drums...but was reading GH has more of a drum feel to it than RB, made me remember this...
The Guitar Hero World Tour bass guitar parts are different...they've added a new note persay. Instead of holding down a key, you just strum open. That note is in the form of a thicker bar by itself rather than a colored circle. Makes more sense playing bass now.
First time we saw it we were like...what IS that! We kept missing a note in the middle of star power going WTH! finally read the instructions...HAHA

I'm not so much of a fan of World Tour. I play the hell out of Rock Band 2 though.
I have you on my friends list, Detonate, so give me an invite when ever you see me online. Although I know for a fact you are WAY better than me. I play mostly on Hard/Expert with the Drums, Guitar, and Bass.... But once you get into the Impossible songs I have to drop down to Medium.....
