i have great respect for anyone that can capture any images of snow leopard (non-captive or from the game farm), that's has to be the greatest challenge for any wildlife photographer.

Wow -- Awesome shot! So awesome in fact, it looks fake...

I really like the one called "deadlock"

Stefano Unterthiner gets my vote. I hope they have more than one example of each photographer so they can get an all around idea of their talent.

Interesting. The winner didn't actually "take" the winning picture, well at least not in person...

Another win for "remote" shooters of the world!

You can only assume and so do others have knowledge in this subject but can't say that for certain.

I'm sorry, I should have posted the link to the interview (one I can't seem to find right now). He talks about how it took him 13 months to get this shot and how many remotes he used (and how using remotes was the only way to get this type of shot). He said it took 5 months to get any shot at all and even then it was only half the leopard.

It wasn't meant as a slam against the photographer. I'm in awe of anyone who would go through what Mr. Winter did to get this extremely rare photograph. It's very well deserved.

Funny, as I look through all the winners each image seems like "the shot of a lifetime". They're just flat out astounding.

Joe

Thks John!! It is always great to see the best! It makes me understand that I'll just have to continue with my "snapshots" and dream about possibilities.
