A REAL TEXAN and AMERICAN - 11-08-2008, 10:42 PM

A little over a year ago my Canon 300D bit the bullet, A few weeks later I received a brand new camera with accessories via the UPS dude. It took me by complete surprise because I'm on a fixed income and my wife had just had a stroke. I know the person that did this gracious act of kindness and All this person said was Thank You for serving our Country. I have only seen a picture of this individual and their family on this forum and I want Everyone to know that we are all sharing our love of photography with what I consider a REAL TEXAN and in my opinion A TRUE AMERICAN with a Heart bigger than the State of TEXAS.
This person didn't want their name mentioned and I will not reveal it and I have waited over a year to tell this story, but I couldn't wait any more.

You know who you are and I hope your life is filled with all the blessings you deserve.

Someday Maybe we shall meet.

God Bless You and Your Family

I'll take this opportunity, since it's Veterans Day weekend, to thank all those who have served our country in peace and war...Ben

I can't speak for other Vets, but I appreciate the thanks even after having been out of the military for over thirty years. I am happy to see the Gulf War Vets get applauded for their service. As a Veteran of 'Nam I experienced a different reception. Those days are long gone, and today is a better day.

On Friday I had the pleasure of attending the dedication of a home that was given to an Army soldier who had been severely wounded in Iraq. I'm sure this is happening elsewhere in the country, but I was extremely proud to be living in Texas, where I believe the best people on the planet live.

So Chief. What goes around, comes around. You deserve the sincerest appreciation and gratitude from every U.S. citizen.

p.s. if that generous person is still feeling generous, I could use a nice new Corvette or a Harley Davidson

I've got you beat by a year or two...There weren't any brass bands when I got back and took my separation 39 years ago...Today I take every opportunity to thank every vet I'm aware of...Ben

I always try to make sure and thank Soldiers/Sailors I see returning home, and more importantly on Veteran's Day. As a former sailor, now on disability, I know how good a simple "Thank you" can feel. My father is retired Navy, my sister former Air Force, and my Brother in Law is AD USAF currently in Iraq. All service men and women deserve our thanks, and hopes that they will all return to their families when their jobs are done.

As always thank you for the time you put forth for our wonderful country.

There are too few acts of kindness like this in our country today.

Thanks for your service to our country!

I will admit until this happened I was very bitter because of the way we were treated when coming home from vietnam. This person has made an extremely large effect on my life and outlook on it..

As for you fellow Veterans I want to say Have a Great Veterans Days. and for all the people that didn't serve I want to Thank You for your appreciation. If you can just take a Veteran to lunch and listen to their stories You will be amazed at what some of us have seen or done and no one ever asks to hear our stories. I Love telling Sea Stories to my Grand Kids.

I tried my uniform on tonight and it shrunk. Anybody know hw to stretch it?

Gordon

I found my old boots the other day, and they don't fit. I was so bummed. I'm not even gonna try the uniform...
