Adopting a Golden Retriever - 11-11-2008, 11:17 AM

Friday I'll be picking up the newest addition to the family, a 3-year old Golden Retriever that we'll probably name Romo from the Wichita Falls Humane Society.

Naturally, photos will be coming soon.

I really can't tell you how excited I am for this weekend.

Beautiful dogs. They are great animals and very loyal. One of the best dogs to have as a family dog in my opinion.

Awesome!

Are you naming him Romo because he leads his team to the playoffs and then chokes?

wah...waaaaaaah...waaaaaaaaah

Well, Romo is one of the names we're considering. I thought Levi, Thunder, George W. Bush, Romo or Nikon (which the g/f promptly rejected)

As far as camera names go, either Leica or Olympus sound pretty cool. Or Kodak.

You could call him, Summarex or Hektor. The Leica lenses named for Max Berek's two dogs, Rex and Hektor.

Or Elmax which was name for "(E)rnst", "(L)ieca" and "Professor (Max) Berek", designer of the original Leica lens.

Congrats!

My g/f's three boys (7,5,3) aren't going to know what to do with themselves. I know Retrievers are a smart dog and I'm hoping the adjustment period into that environment won't be to long.

You have chosen wisely. Three boys and a Golden Retriever should be made for each other. It will be interesting to see which ones wear out the fastest...

Goldens are great, I had two. Seems like they can just smell water and head for it too. I just couldn't keep my male from stalking ducks in the lake.

Enjoy your Golden. That will likely be my next dog.
