Looks like a combo of strobist methods and HDR.

I really like Chase Jarvis. He always pushes out really great stuff and comes up with some great ideas.

hm, seems to be okay for me. I usually poke around his blog a lot.

As for lenses I'm not too good at figuring that type of stuff out. I cant remember what lens I have on my own camera half the time haha.

I want to be ME. I don't want to imitate someone else's style or technique. I want to be an individual. I want to break new ground. I want to lead the pack. I want to show the world how it's done.

But, I also want to make a six figure income, so I'll copy, imitate, emulate anybody that is making a mark in the industry.

haha tom - i do want to be me also - and i want to be ME making fantastic photos like i like - and i like those. not to say everyone doesn't have their own twist to things - also keep in mind - that guy lives somewhere besides HOUSTON - where everything is blah - haha.

do you think there are only so many styles, techniques to go around though? i mean at some point - everyone does something like someone else...

I agree...I want to be original too...but I also feel inspired...particularly by those that utilize natural light to create amazing photographs.

Ed is a super good guy and an amazing friend. I have known him for many years now.

I hear through the grape vine big things will be happening to him and his wife soon and honestly it could not happen to a better group of people.

Truly they are two of my favorite people in this business!!!

Their work is amazing of course, but their attitude and the energy they bring to a shoot is second to no one I know.

I'm a big fan of Erin Vey -- she's primarily a fabulous pet photographer, but also does some great portrait work.

I love her style, but what I find most inspirational about her work is her ability to capture the personality of her subject -- be it human or canine.

Never let your location be an excuse for un-inspired work.

lol! Houston is blah?!?!? Move to Abilene. Would you like to shoot in this field or that one? Would you like this cow in your photo or that one? Mooo. OMG. I would love to be near something just to have more options for local shooting. Familiarity breeds contempt. No kidding.
