Backup Software??? - 11-16-2008, 05:57 PM

I have set up a 1 TB RAID on my new box, but the Vista backup Utility wants to back up my System drive. And I only want to backup my media drive (photo drive)

Any suggestions on software to do this automatically. I just don't want to back up my C drive.

You can always get SyncToy (free from MS) and use the system scheduler!

I use Fileback PC - not expensive, and it works well. It will back up whatever folders you choose, and you can set up multiple jobs. I have it back up my image folders at night, but it backs up my other stuff a couple times a day.

I use SyncToy and like it well enough. My husband found it and installed it for me. I have it on a weekly schedule plus I run it anytime I finish a big project (like processing a wedding or whatever). It's quick, easy and free. I have it set up to back up four different "pairs" - folders to three different external hard drives. Works great for me.

I use and like Backer. It is pretty inexpensive and has never let me down in the last 10 years or so.

Downloaded SyncToy. Works perfect. Between my new RAID and my Carbonite account I am good to go now....

Just another FYI for all those out there using Vista and not happy with the backup that came with it!
You can use the NTBackup Utility that comes with XP, yes you will have to move the appropriate files from XP to Vista to use it, but it works great and gives you a true backup solution for free, allows for full, incremental and differential along with verify functionality!
