I've never been up to Caddo Lake, or the area in general. Is it a good place to visit in the late spring? I'm putting a trip together with some friends that are all pretty photo oriented so that will be our main pastime while we're there.

LOVE Caddo- any time of year! It is like being in another world- be sure to get a boat for the best shots out in the cypress trees with the moss hanging down. Nothing is more beautiful than that sight at first dawn! If you plan to camp, be sure to reserve early. The campgrounds sell out weeks in advance.

I also love Caddo. I plan on taking a kayaking trip there next month.

Been there twice in the fall. I was there about 10 days ago. I was late for the fall color on the trees but it was still nice. I probably would not go in the winter. I do want to go there in the Spring sometime and in July when the water lillys bloom with the white flower on them. It is a great place but I have struggled getting a great shot there. I have plenty of decent keepers but still trying to get that one Wow picture. We did an evening tour with John Winn on his go devil boat and tour with Cindy Speight on her pontoon boat. The day before we rented a jon boat with outboard motor at Crips Camp.

One of the nicest areas I have seen is the area is in the red circle. The bald cypress trees are spaced out giving you some nice photo opportunities.

I'd love to head out there in the spring. I also just got back from Caddo Lake and thought it was absolutely beautiful. I didn't get on the lake until after noon because the group I was with wasn't photography oriented. This is a sample of the beauty...
