Crime and punishment: Barry Manilow ... Make it stop! Make it stop!

Invoking a penalty reminiscent of A Clockwork Orange, a judge in Fort Lupton, Colo., has come up with a painful approach to punishing the loudest of the loud.

The judge forces noise violators to listen to music they hate for an hour as a way to cut down on repeat offenders. He says it's working.

Who does he consider punishment? Well, he's made them listen to such artists as Barry Manilow, Barney the Dinosaur, and the Platters singing "Only You." Hey, I like that song!

What songs would you hate to be locked in a room for an hour listening to as punishment? I've got a bunch. In Fort Lupton, it's probably best to be quiet.

There was an episode of Family guy where Cleveland and Quagmire had to go over and look after Stewie, and ended up locked in the basement forced to watch the "How to use your Remote" loop from directv. That would drive me absolutely nutso...

As far as music is concerned, while I like the doors somewhat (not my favorite by any stretch), the keyboard part that goes on for entirely too long in riders on the storm-- so if I needed to be punished, it would have to be a loop of that keyboard part.

They were talking about this on fox news this morning. I think it's hilarious. I have enough metal and punk music in my car and house to really piss my neighbors off when they get a little too out of control with rap music. I like rap in moderation, but when I can hear it over my dog, kids, and tv at 10pm then somethings gotta give.

Hmmm. First Call at 0615 on Monday morning... that's near the top of the list.

Also - I'm going to track down whoever recorded the Teacup Song and punch them straight in the nose. The same goes for the Barney Song dudes.
