I recently bought a pair of Bose buds. They sound great.

I love the ones that I have from Shure (I think I have the ec3) I am not really an audiophile but they came highly recommended from a friend that is.

The ec4 and ec5 have a better dynamic range, but cost a good bit more, and are a bit larger as well.

I really like the way that the ec3's fit, as you route the cable over the ear for the most direct fit.

Found a link for the new name that they are using: scl2

+1 on the Shure. I have the E3c and love them. Bought them directly from Shure on 12/31/05 and they are still going strong. I've bought one set of silicone cups over the three years. Well worth the $179 I paid.

Those Shures look like they would stay in your ears better than the Bose, especially if you're planning to use them while doing any running or cardio exercise. Sometimes, my Bose fall right out of my ears. Can be a little frustrating at times.

I really like mine -- like I said, the cables route over the ear, so the weight from the cable pair is supported over the ear and not directly on the earbuds. That and the fact that they are supplied with three different sizes of outer rubber cups or foam inserts, the fit is customizible. Once you find ones that fit -- they are very hard to beat.

Sensaphonics ProPhonic 2X-S. It's a custom moulded soft silicone in-ear monitor. I wouldn't listen to anything else.

I tried "universal fit" canalphones, but the simple fact is that my ear canals are not at all circular in cross-section. I would get fatigue after a few hours of listening; with the Sensaphonics, I've had them in for almost days at a time and I have often forgotten that I'm wearing them.

Here's a new pair designed for the iPhone called zbuds by Zagg. The price is right. They have an introductory price right now. I just ordered a pair but haven't received them yet.

and if you use code "techound1" at checkout you get 20% off and free shipping. (Thanks to retailmenot.com)
