Janice and I lived in SoCal for several years. While there, the Laguna Hills wildfire burned across the valley from where we lived. I was never as close as some of the photos but we did have them as close as across the road from our subdivision. The power of a fire, fueled by more dry brush than you can imagine and 50-100MPH winds, is a very scary thing. From a distance, they're beautiful to an artists eye but up close and personal they are an ugly beast.

Poor focus behind the camera creates as many bad photos as poor focus through the camera!
