So, right, I was a girl scout and vividly recall making fires, but I seem to totally suck at it now. Its looking like snow here - very cold steel sky. So Mike took my boy Christmas shopping, started a fire, and left me and my girl here. Its becoming a joke - if you want the fire to go out - tell mommy to take care of it. My memories of girl scouts are coming back more clearly now. I remember tossing a log on a newly started campfire and smashing it flat. lol. I shoulda been a fireman.

Anyway, my fire is still going, I added some logs and it didnt go out. Lets see if I can keep it lit until Mike gets back. lol. Can anyone say DURAFLAME?

We took a vacation once where our hotel room came complete with a "fireplace butler." It was heaven on earth - he would appear at the appointed time and build a roaring fire in the fireplace (and he did it the old fashioned way - no gas line or duraflame logs) and we'd enjoy a nice Cabernet by the fire in our fluffy robes. I wish we could afford to go back. I'm clearly no help in the building a fire department.

The Lodge @ Koele, on Lana'i. It sounds strange to say we had a fireplace in our room in Hawaii, but that hotel is up in the hills and cools off enough at night that it was really nice. If you love relaxing in front of a nice fire, it's a great place for a special trip!
