Bleh!! I was assuming Harrell would be invited as well

He has thrown for 15,429 yards with 130 total touchdown passes, and ended on an 11-1 season

Anyways, I'm sure he has a great future and career ahead of him though. He's a great person all-around.

New York Times article -“If Graham is not invited to the Heisman, they ought to quit giving out the award,” Leach said. “It is a shameless example of politics ruling over performance. The other guys are deserving, but he has earned a place alongside them.” I agree that the Heisman is turning political and is strongly influenced by money from boosters and the school hyping their candidate. It would be very interesting to see how much money is being spent to influence the vote.

The whipping Tech took in Norman, with so many eyes on Harrell, really hurt his standing.

I think he should have been included.
But that game really did him in.
If only three can be invited (is that true?) then how could you pick him over the other three? Also Leach is an idiot when it comes to the press. Leach voted for tech number 2 in Coaches poll. NO ONE else even ranked them in the top 5. Sometimes you just have to say, "we had a great year and we screwed up 60 minutes of that year." Texas got screwed, but only 2 can play in the game and we didn't show as well as OU, that's life. It's okay!

3-5 players can be invited. It depends on the panel that's doing the invitations. I agree, I think Harrell was left out because of the outing in Norman. I think he deserves to be a nominee, but I definitely don't think he deserves to win it. Perhaps this is the reason the Panel left him off too?

[sarcasm]Yeah, his outing in Norman was absolutely pitiful! I mean come on, how could you give consideration to a quaterback that only throws for 361 yards, has a 60 percent completion ratio, 3 TD's, and a QB rating of 129. Tebow didn't have that bad of a night at home against Mississipi, did he?[/sarcasm]

Harrell should have been invited. It is a slap in the face to a young man who has done nothing but great things on the football field.

If you'll read a little closer, I said "the" outing, not "his" outing. A QB's perception isn't only based on HIS stats. His TEAM lost horribly, thus why I think he was taken out of the consideration.
