Not saying that Daly is right -- cause he so rarely ever is, but if the guy holding the camera was close enough to him when Daly was trying to make a drop that Daly was able to grab the camera, then he was probably way too close.

As I said, I am not excusing Daly for assault, but I at least understand.

According to the report I read, cameras are prohibited for spectators unless they have the proper credentials, which this guy didn't.

I gotta admit, I like Daly, as he is a perfect example of the human frailties within all of us.

However, the guy is a

Anger being more of a disposition than an actual state of being mad about something. A lot of men suffer from this, and I was one of them at a certain time in my life. Judging only from what I read in the article, he seems to have the same issue.

Let's see...
1. The spectator had a camera taking pictures when it was prohibited.
2. The spectator had already taken several close up pics of Daly.
3. The spectator stuck the camera in Daly's face and took a flash pic.
4. The course marshalls did nothing to remove the spectator
or make him put away the camera or confiscate the camera.

Enough is enough... So Daly had to take action himself against the spectator...

I think the spectator got off lucky with just a smashed camera... an ass whoopin
should have been more in order!

Then the tournament offers the spectator tickets for the weekend?!?!?! Go figure!

What difference does it make whether or not the guy had the proper credentials? Does that make it okay to destroy the man's equipment? The right thing to do would have been to notify the tournament officials to let them deal with it appropriately.

Exactly. Have the officials throw his camera against a tree instead.
