First PC build - 12-11-2008, 02:55 PM

My very first build and everything went together nicely. It hasn't caught fire yet so I'll go ahead and get the nerd out and post some pics.

Green is my favorite color so I added the max number of green LED fans I could.
Not bad for around $1100.00, I already had the monitor, headset and speakers. Used solely for gaming, COD:World at War, COD:Modern Warfare, Civilization III, and Guild Wars.

Raidmax Smilidon Extreme Black case and 4 extra; green LED fans
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale 3.16GHz
Intel® Desktop Board DP43TF
4GB Corsair DDR2 PC6400 TWINX KIT
XFX GeForce 8800GTX Extreme 768MB
Mushkin 580w ATZ12v Power Supply
XP Home SP3
Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 500GB SATA
Pioneer 20x Internal DVD-/+RW Drive
G5 Laser Mouse
Logitech Media Keyboard

Congrats on your first build. For some reason 1100 seems kind of high. I have built similar systems for a lot less? Where did you get your parts from?

Neat looking system.

I have built more systems than I can remember, but none looked this cool. My are too darn generic. LOL

Still have a cigarette lighter left over from my building days. Slips right into a 5 1/4" drive bay, even has a cup holder... any interest?

Thanks Dtiger, got the case, PSU and fans from newegg, that alone with shipping was around 250 and the rest I got at Fry's.

Yeah the processor, motherboard and video card did drive up the cost.
I did want something that was at least close to up to date and was willing to wait till the Nehalems came out. of course that never happened

I built mine for gaming about 4 years ago. cost me about $650 or so. but I got some of my parts from a friend that was having issues with his brand new custom built computer and started replacing parts until he damn near had the whole thing replaced and gave up and bought a dell. He sold me his parts cheap including his case.
