i havent heard any complaints...but that's because i mostly hear about it from my 13 year old sister (you know...one of those that screams because of the guys and could care less about the storyline....and wants everything twilight for christmas this year...)

and i also hear about it from all the women on theknot.com and they seem to like it.

My sister dragged me to it, it's very teeny bopper targeted imo and I don't know your age demographic but it is aimed at 13yrold girls.

Agreed. I read the books and I enjoyed the movie, but he is not anything like what I would have imagined Edward to be. But that's okay. I'm not a big Edward fan anyway. :

I refuse to read a vampire book where the vampires "sparkle" in sunlight

Might be good for some folks, but the books/movie are definitely not marketed to me.

It's obvious that it was done on a low budget, but it was handled pretty well. As others have said, the casting was not exactly what i had in my head, but it wasn't awful. I don't know how they are going to pull it off if they keep the same actor for Jacob - he was the most off from what i pictured.

Hopefully the success of the first one will generate a higher budget and more "realistic" effects for the rest of the franchise.

All in all, i wasn't horribly disappointed in the movie vs. the book.

i have read and enjoyed all of the books. I found the movie to be very good and much better than i expected. i was afraid it would be a teeniebopper movie and it was not. it was very true to the book in my opinion. For those worried about blood and gore normally associated with vampire stories, i thought it was very pg or pg-13 rated.

for your perspective i am an old fart and have read a large number of vampire books.

I read somewhere that they may have to recast him for subsequent movies. He's a cute kid, but he's just not going to work.

I just got back from the movie, it was good but it did not follow the book 100% which was a bummer. I think they rushed the begginning too much and didn't really let the characters develop and some of the minor details in the book that really explained a lot and made things more "on the edge of your seat and emotional" were left out or spoken out of context...overall it was good but i enjoyed the book better

A movie that romanticizes vampires, which have traditionally been creatures of evil, dark forces. What in the world has happened? Give me a Bela Lugosi b/w flick or Christopher Lee any day.

Oh, and no, I haven't seen it or plan to. I have no teenage daughters. :-)
