Giant Canon "L" Lens Growing in Tyler, TX!!! - 12-20-2008, 08:44 PM

Was part of an Honor Guard for a funeral detail in Tyler, TX today. Afterwards, we stopped for a bite to eat. I looked up at the skyline of Tyler and what did I see? A tall black glass building with a red stripe. It reminded me of the Canon "L" lens. The architect must have been a Canon fan. Of course you Nikon shooters might say its that cute lil red Nikon swoosh.

You be the judge. This outa open a can o worms. Or a can of something else.LOL Have fun!!!

Ahh, but is the building new enough to have a USM elevator?

I've looked at that building a million times and that thought never occurred to me. Amazing what others notice right in my own backyard. AND...to all the Nikonians, silly rabbits, red stripes are for L lenses.

well, it looks more like a sigma brand. Canon is not the only one put red string on the lens. LOL.

It's a bank building. The building is decorated for Christmas.

Sorry you had to visit the Upper East Side of Texas for such a sad reason. Come back sometime when you can laugh. It's a nice corner of the world.

I'm dying to photograph the church to the left of the bank building. It looks very interesting.

Take a look at the Liberty Theater in downtown just off Broadway. Its old school. They would'nt stop so I could get a shot. I just took a quick pic of the building from the Wendy's parking lot on Hwy 31. These ole eyes thought the stripe was part of the building not a decoration.LOL
