Retiring my modeling career - 12-27-2008, 09:47 AM

Due to unfortunate events (over-controlling boyfriend ), I am being forced to give up my modeling career.

It was a pleasure meeting and working with the ones of you I've met! Please keep in touch; I had to delete all my modeling sites, but hopefully I can remain on this one. I'm hoping this is temporary and that I can begin modeling again ...

I always talked about how when I retired from modeling, that I'd take up photography ...

Sounds like you are giving up the wrong thing.

So sorry to hear about this turn of events.

I won't jump in to your personal life, but this sounds like a topic for Dr. Phil.

Trust me, I KNOW I am ... but having your heart broken on Christmas isn't the best feeling in the world ...

I'll figure things out and hopefully return to my career soon ...

Good Luck.
I love your fine art touch to modeling {dancer, etc}
and would have loved to shoot you for my gallery in Italy.
Modeling isnt what it used to be {Avedon stuff circa 70's in NYC}.
The internet has really degraded stuff.
You use the term over control but it might be
better for safety and relationship.
Like some photogs models can be pretty nasty.
So ... whats your spec and style going to be ...

I'm always saddened when someone gives up a promising talent in favor of something they know is wrong...It's my hope you'll come through this with a clearer idea of what direction to take your future...Ben

If I'm getting too personal with my question, just say so. Is it modeling in general he doesn't like, or is it certain types of modeling he doesn't want you doing?

We don't know each other, however, I am prompted to comment on relationships that are not build on mutual growth. I had to learn this (we're 43 years into this learning experience). Respect, trust, and encouragement are essential in a lasting, loving and caring relationship. Sorry...I didn't mean to get so preachy.

It's certain types of modeling. He asked me to not do any more implieds and I did a Christmas session with Brad that involved implieds (my decision) behind his back. *Slap on the hand for being dishonest*

I spoke with him some more about the issue this morning and it's not that I can't model; he just doesn't want me doing things behind his back ... implieds ... and he doesn't see the need to have everything posted on the internet. Basically, "I don't want to share my girlfriend".

Regardless, I still had to delete my MM, OMP, and UjEnA accounts as well as resign from my agencies. I figure give it some time and I'll slowly be able to work those back in and resume modeilng.
