Funny or sad story?

Wife went into a local photography chain in the Camp Bowie area of Fort Worth to get me the Tamron 18-270mm lens for christmas, as she is into photography as well she knows what she is looking for and talking about. Anyway she walks up to the counter and asks for said lens, The guy working behind the counter kinda laughted and said there was no such lens on the market! Now this lens has been in ALL the magazines for months.
She happened to look over his shoulder and see one on the self behind him as she pointed it out he just shrugged his sholders and said he should not have taken a few days off.
Sadly this is the same store that tried to sell me a cordless release for my D300 Lucky I new it was the wrong one and didn't buy it!!
I still have a gift card for there, Guess I'll get some memory cards with it. Gee wonders if Arlington Camera would take a compeitors gift card? LOL.

There is a more reputable non-chain store in that area, but some have reported mixed results with it. They probably won't take your gift card, either, though!

Does not surprise me at all. Had the same results from probably the same chain but a defferent location.......

I had a gift card to said chain store and made three trips there before I could find anything I would buy, even with someone elses money.

Thanks Tom, I checked out there site but they are not big on giving prices. How are they to deal with?
I'm looking for a grip and SB-600 flash for my D300.

Stop in and ask them the price.. They will be moving to a new location that isn't far away from the current location. Maybe they'll be having a moving sale ?
