It's probably more information than you need, but I just C&P the whole thing. A 7 day pass is only $17.50 and it goes from Tempe past the airport to down town at the convention center then it turns north and goes up to my hotel and beyond.
METRO light rail Ride Guide
METRO light rail is a great way to get to work, school, shopping and events in Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa. Light rail connects seamlessly with the bus system—your transit pass is good for both.
Days and hours of operation
Weekdays

METRO operates 365 days a year. During special events, trains may operate more frequently, or for longer hours, to accommodate large crowds.
How to ride
1. Use the online trip planner at ValleyMetro.org
2. Buy a transit pass at any light rail station, transit center or online.
3. Activate your pass before boarding.
4. Signs on the front and side of the train display the train’s final destination.

Fare vending machines
You can buy a transit pass at fare vending machines located at each light rail station. In addition to screen instructions, there are options for voice instructions in English and Spanish.
1. To begin, choose your rider category: full fare or reduced fare (disabled, youth or elderly).
2. Select the fare type: one-ride, all-day, 3-day, 7-day, 31-day or Express/Rapid.
3. Select the number of passes you wish to buy.
4. Insert payment: coins, bills, or credit or debit card.
5. Remove your passes. Remember to pick up your change and your bank card payment receipt.
In addition to vending machines at light rail stations, there are transit pass outlets located throughout the Valley; for a listing, visit
www.ValleyMetro.org. Report vending machine malfunctions by calling 602-253-5000. Please note the location of the machine and the time of the transaction.
Activate your pass before riding
METRO operates on a proof-of-payment system and you must hold a valid pass to be on the station platform or the train. Security officers will regularly patrol the system and will ask passengers at random to produce a valid transit pass. Violators are subject to fines ranging from $50 to $500 and may lose their transit privileges.
Because this system allows you to purchase a pass without having to use it immediately, you must activate your pass before you board the train.
A one-ride receipt is automatically activated when you buy it. Keep your receipt because it is your proof of payment. The one-ride pass allows you ride either light rail or local bus (not both) for up to 90 minutes after purchase.
All-day, 3-day, 7-day and 31-day passes can be activated in one of three ways:
− Choose the “activate” option when you buy your pass at the vending machine.
− Place a pass purchased earlier into the activation slot on the vending machine
− Dip your pass into a bus farebox
Employer-issued Platinum Pass or ASU transit cards must be tapped on the orange validator target before each boarding. The target is located on the upper right side of transit pass vending machines; some METRO stations also have stand-alone targets mounted near the station entrance. On the bus, targets are mounted on the farebox.
Bikes
• Bike racks at each park-and-ride and in each light rail vehicle.
• Enter the train at the doors nearest the bike symbol and place your bike in the rack. You may also stand and hold your bike if the rack is full, and you do not block aisles or doorways.
• If a train is very full, bike riders must wait for the next train to ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers.
Accessibility
METRO is fully accessible.
Station entry ramps with textured warning strips to mark boundaries between the sidewalk and the street, and the street and station entrances.
Light rail vehicle entrances are at the same level as the station platform.
Four areas for wheelchairs in each vehicle and wide aisles. Wheelchair securements are not needed.
Spoken and visual announcements at stations and inside trains. Spoken and Braille instructions on fare vending machines.
Warning bells and flashing headlights when the train begins movement.
Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport connection
Connect to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport at the light rail station at 44th and Washington streets. An automated train system will eventually run between the light rail station, airport east economy parking lot, terminals, and the rental car facility.
Park-and-rides
No overnight parking is permitted. Cars left in lots after the end of the METRO service day are subject to being ticketed and/or towed.
