As some of you know, before I came to TX I was a Police Officer in CA for about 15 years. I've been out for quite a few years and have been missing it, so
at 8am this morning I was sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff for Denton County. I've spent that last few months taking the state challenge test (passed) and going through the background process (investigation, psych, physical, polygraph, etc.), which all came to fruition today. I have the support of my wonderful wife and the kids aren't sure what to think yet but they have always known that this was a part of my "previous life". I start field training on Sunday.
I'll still have time to work on photography and may even get to open up few "new" areas of photography. I'll also be able to pursue some great training opportunities. Next month I will be taking a Tactical Rifle Instructor course being taught by
Paul Howe, a true American hero. In case you've never heard that name, he was one of the "Operators" in
Black Hawk Down.
So that's what I've been up to in the new year, what about you?
